An old stockpile of treasures

While sifting through stuff in the desk in my room, I found a sky blue folder full of Ames High School memories.

An anonymous letter addressed to “Web Copy Editor, Dianna Bai” with a postcard inside that says “How could you miss House of Chen - Ames’ oldest and by far, best Chinese restaurant?....” (After I wrote a review of Ames’ Chinese restaurants for the Web)

Ticket stubs to Kiss Me Kate, Drummers of West Africa, and the Moscow State Radio Symphony from OnStage

“I Shopped Fair Trade Today” card from Worldly Goods

A rather disturbing poem called “The Emperor’s Second Wife” about a 12 year old concubine that Steph gave me in Calculus. Note at end: “You said yesterday’s poetry was too lame? Well, have some more sex and vulgarity.” <3 Steph

Another poems with what looks like a handwritten conversation on it between Steph and I about Scratch Pad. Also includes many declarations of “I <3 U.”

A postcard from Susan Raich in Reims... telling me about the self-cleaning toilets.

A nice laminated name tag: “Dianna Bai (portraying Chris Andrews)” Mock Trial!

A press pass for a Michael Moore event.

An Ames High ID card with an “open campus” sticker. Yay, the era of freedom.

A program for Stained Glass. It was amazing.

Periodic table of elements from Honors Chem with Mr. Junke.

A pretty interior design of a house. Did I do that??? My artistic talent = wasted.

A Ravenclaw badge from the Harry Potter Club’s first session (I was the press).

I am such a sucker for nostalgia.
