Wear Your Love Like Heaven -- Donovan ]
Now that I've recuperated enough to raise my head without fear of brain stew dribbling down the side of my face, I think it's high time to make an account of my holidays.
I've been meaning to do something to mark highlights of the recently concluded yule season but, as expected, schoolwork got in the way. Between hours of slaving over them and failed attempts at scampering away, there was very little time left for traipsing 'round the web.
That's been happening a lot the past year. Maybe this '09 I'll get to have juice enough not to lose to brain drain whenever I have something completely uninspired to share over LJ.
What I have here is a rare, one-day respite called a weekend. Of course, the entire Saturday was reserved for dropping in and out of dead sleep so it really doesn't count as a free day for recreational staring at the screen. So, here I am catching up on unfinished stuff that doesn't require a drip of brain matter.
1. Ich habe auf Deutsch mit meine Klassenkameradinen gesungen. wir sangt 'Oh Tannenbaum' und 'Kling, Glöckchen'.
Das ist alles. Vielen Dank.
2. The parentals fetched me for the holidays and, not five minutes into the trip to Cavite, a band shirt caught my eye. Right there on the side of the road was a guy wearing an over-sized, black band shirt brandishing this SoM design.
Judging by the ill-fitting bigness of the thing on the guy, he probably bought it cheap at some ukay somewhere. Bet I could've bought it off him if I had gotten off the van and asked him nicely.
3. Guess what interwebz bandwagon I jumped this time. I am now in fehzbook and am really enjoying the many applications that know just how to distract a guy from actual work.
The networking, for some reason, doesn't feel as intrusive and annoying as that of Multiply. Unfortunately, it's not as customizable in the looks department; not that I was any good at layouts on Multiply, mind you.
If anyone wants to, add the
me that's hugging the tree.
4. I didn't have the money to be galante in the gift-giving this year but, regardless, I did manage to give both my lolas and my one inaanak (here in the Philippines) half-decent gifts.
Sadly, the turn up this Christmas left a lot to be desired. I almost couldn't scrounge up the 4K I promised as initial pay-up. Somehow, I managed it. Only 10 more Ks to go.
5. As pre-New Year's Eve celebratory something, I decided to tick one of the boxes on my yet-to-do list -- fire myself a real ass gun. Now if someone would just grant me the money for a skydiving trip...)
Getting acquainted with the smell of live action gun powder proved one very interesting thing, at least. It appears as though my gulat nature can actually be overcome by repetitively subjecting myself to involuntary-jerkingly surprising situations.
That about sums up the season for me. And, aside from one hardly notable development in Nonoy in Progress (I got through the holidays without a single depresso glitch), nothing groundbreaking occurred over the Christmas break. One Yay for getting by!
