And suddenly, after a drought of not-posting, there came a hurricane

You know, friend crushes usually aren't a bad thing, really. But having a friend crush on one of the Emerald Beat dancers -- yeah, I've hit a new level of weird. And it's only gotten worse because Katie Phillips (Luke's friend from hs and ex) works for Emerald Beat and is willing to help me figure out his name and such. I felt stalker-ish at first...until I saw the old guys taking pics during the show of the female dancers. Yeah, never going to get to THAT level of creepy. Ever.

But seriously, of all the dancers, he's one of the more normal-looking ones. He has flesh (this is a major issue. Most of the guys look downright anorexic) and has a more athletic build (now, take the scrawny dudes and give them sloping, narrow shoulders...then put them in spandex tops...yeah, not appealing to me either). Admittedly, his worst feature is his teeth. He already had narrow eyes and a Roman nose, but the way his teeth are makes him kinda resemble a rat. He used to keep his hair shaved but has grown it out a bit (Lynne first noted this) and now we can see that it's brown. Yeah, just brown.

Oh, and for the record, this is at least this guy's second year at Busch Gardens. I first noticed him last year. Which brings us to another point of interest.

He doesn't smile during shows anymore. I think he's gotten bored with it (I know I would be bored after doing the same damn show 3 times a day, 3 days a week for 6 months for 2 years...phew). He also looks slightly older than the rest of the cast. I have a feeling that if he doesn't make Riverdance or something soon, he's going to move on to other things. I dunno, I don't even know the guy and I'm feeling concern for him :P I am interested though in some little details. For example, is the ring that he wears on his left middle finger of any significance? Or the face that one of his shoes has tape around it? Are they lucky and he can't bear to get rid of them or is he just waiting for the new ones to come in? Where in Ireland is he from? How did he get to be an Irish dancer and not a regular ol' jock (he looks like the jock type)?

Meh, this entry feels both weird and cathartic. I've had a lot of friend crushes but have never really admitted to them. It's like "I know very little about you, but from what little I've heard/seen, you are a very interesting person that is worth the effort to get to know." It relates very closely with my penchant for, when I meet interesting or unique people, to create a backstory for them, like they're a character in a novel, or make hypotheses based on what I observe (yeah, bus rides in Williamsburg will do this). But unlike a character in a book, the person is REAL and can INTERACT with you and be CREEPED OUT that a stranger is so interested in them. So, while I'm completely fabricating what this guy is thinking, it's not like I can just continue reading to find out the truth. I have to MEET HIM or continue slinking behind his back like a creepy fangirl.

Another reason why this is of interest (and would be concerning except for the, you know, loyalty bit) is that the last time I felt this strongly about pursuing a friend crush was, you guessed it, with Mr. Lucas Smith. Yeah, who would have thunk that a friend crush would lead to a crush then to a nearly 10-month relationship? I'm not saying I want a relationship with EB guy; to be honest I wasn't in search of one with Luke. I just want to know more interesting people.

BTW, work is going okay, the 4th of July was awesome (SPARKLERS!!!!) and I have, once again, started designing random buildings just so that I can play with graph paper XD
