The past week has been madness.
My friend Sean Laforest, fresh out of rehab, has moved to the beach to stay with my mother and I in our home, as to help with the remodeling of the house, and to help with the bills, so the 3 of us, can live the way we should financially. Sean and I can both remain sober from Opiates, while having a proper roof over our heads, and can return to school without any distractions.
Thus far, we have gotten a LOT of work done. Sean worked with me on Valentine's Day at the Brentwood, bussing tables, and made a quick $100. My mother set a rent amount for him to be paid monthly, and he agreed to it. The remainder of our week has been spent trying to find him a job, and trying to find me a better job, which I have managed to do. I have my second interview at Fuddrucker's tommorow at Barefoot Landing, and will be finding out how much I make and when I start and what my schedule will be. I'm going to put in my two week notice at the Brentwood immediately. I think this will be the first time that I ever formally have quit a job the correct way, to move on to another one.
Sean went to TGIFriday's while I was at work the other night with Brad to have dinner and have a few drinks, and spoke with the general manager there, who is going to give him a job, almost guranteed. Brad can train him, because he's worked there for 5 years, and if that doesn't work, Paul already told me at the Brentwood that Sean can take my job if I go to Fuddruckers. Either way, Sean has a job.
Tonight, we cleaned out the entire spare room, so that Sean has his own room, moved all of his things into it, and moved the pool table into the living room so that it can be set up immediately. The carpet wasn't big enough for the living room, so we'll be laying it in the laundry room this week. We got just under half of the entire house completed. And when I say that, I mean the general things that I have to do currently, I don't mean overall remodeling.
Either way, we on our grind, and things are looking up for the first time in a very long time. I am in the process of clearing up the problems that I currently have with my driver's license. I have two states to deal with now, SC, and MI, so it's been a pain in my ass trying to clear up all the problems with it, but I have to write a letter to MI tonight, to set in forth a payment plan, and hault the suspension of my license entirely.
I'm a busy man, and for a very good reason.
Also, Listen to this song, it's amazing.
