Yesterday an elementary school principal in Newton cancelled Halloween celebrations due to complaints from parents who said the festivities offended their religious beliefs. And so some website created a discussion forum where people can talk about this shit, and one person sent in the best reply:
I think this should be taken even further.
I'm not Episcopalian yet I drive past an Episcopal Chuech every day, this offends me so they should have a 20 foot fence surrounding their property.
I prefer Dunkin Donuts. The thought of bitter coffee is simply repulsive and offensive. Starbucks should remove all external signs from their stores so I'm more comforatable.
Yankees hats are offensive as well as Lakers and Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys. I think people should be banned from wearing them in public, in school and around South Station.
I saw a horrible color green on a Ford Mustang yesterday...I'm offended and hereby demand Ford stop selling that color anymore.
Dog and cat food commercials on TV during dinner time...banned, I'm offended.
Cell phone useage within fifteen feet of me, (unless of course it's me on the phone) BANNED everywhere in the world.
This sounds sort of absurd doesn't it???
HAPPY HALLOWEEN NEWTON!!!! I suppose you'll be having school on Christmas Day soon enough.
Oh God, this is so compleatly Newton....
