There Are and Shall Be 15 Members
This Christmas, after unwrapping my presents and being with my family, I went to my room and asked to no one in particular to grant my wish. My wish is that all 15 of my brothers of Super Junior will be happy, well, and equally accepted by everyone. There may be some malice out there but, I'd like to see it fade and everyone happily embracing each other and smiling with one another. Is that so wrong? Is it that hard to accept two new brothers into the already large family? I don't think it is.
ELF, we are all sisters and brothers that love our brothers and will support them faithfully forever, right? Then why, can't we extend that very same love and devotion to our new brothers? It is amazing to see the hatred that some of us have to our brothers... This is not the way a family should act. Family is there to support one another in all endevours... Family is there to protect one another... Family will never take up arms against one another... Family will love one another... That is what a family is.
I have three cousins whom I'd never met on my mother's side. I met them last month on my birthday and they warmly accepted me as their older cousin and happily played by my side and celebrated my birthday with me. I feel as though I've known them all my life.
The same can be applied to Super Junior. When Henry and Zhou Mi joined SuJu-M, I felt as if I'd gained two new brothers. I accepted them as part of my family and supported them even when there are those who said they weren't members. If Super Junior can happily accept them, why the hell can't we? They all look happy together. They all speak to each other as equals. They are a family that supports and loves each other. They didn't make a fuss when Henry and Zhou Mi arrived. Why should we? They didn't spread hateful and disdainful messages about Henry and Zhou Mi. Why should we? They didn't interrupt them when they were speaking. Why should we? They stood up for them when some of our siblings were against them. Why shouldn't we?
These are but a few of the things that Super Junior has done to make Zhou Mi and Henry feel accepted and loved. At one of the concerts, I saw Sungmin playing happily with Henry and I saw Zhou Mi happily being near Heechul. And yet, rude siblings still want to do their Only13 chants and hate them for being there. What is wrong with this picture?
I've said all I'm going to say for now but, if you can't accept them, then you have some self-evaluation to do. They are 15 forever and we need to accept that and move the hell on.
