...Donovan Bailey finished the100m race at the Atlanta Olympics in 9.84, winning the gold medal, and setting a world, Olympic, and Canadian record. (The Olympic and Canadian records still stand.) To his credit, he did not subsequently capitalize on this achievement by attempting a misguided recording career. (Unlike Carl Lewis, whose album--inexplicably--was popular in Sweden. Or Linford Christie.)
I mention this because, earlier this week, Bill sent me a
link to a story about a new Fox reality show, Celebrity Duets. He also sent me a story about Elvis Stojko's new singing career
(discussed yesterday). Which made me think: maybe he should go on Celebrity Duets with either Carl Lewis or Linford Christie. They can't sound any worse than any of the people who try out for American Idol.
