Where's the knight pining so for me, he leaps to death in woe for me??

Seeing Camelot tomorrow! At the 5th Avenue, heck yes. Michael York is King Arthur, Rachel York is Guenevere, and James Barbour is Lancelot. I'm excited! Rachel and I are going. I especially love James Barbour, so I'm pretty excited (and listening to Jane Eyre, which is actually really fantastic).

So I'm on spring break this week, and half of next week. It's lame, since we had all those snow days they're taking away three days of our spring break. They're just making them half days, but still. I'm not totally pleased.

Darcy and I are hanging out over spring break. :)

I haven't posted in a long time, let's see...I'm cast as Ruby in Dames at Sea, at Paradise. I'm really excited, it's my first lead AND Bernadette Peters originated the role. We haven't started rehearsals yet, but it's a cute show. Kind of a parody of shows like 42nd Street. I'm nervous about a lot of the singing (it's very much a mezzo role, and it's not really my favorite range to sing in), but I get to do a lot of tap dancing! That'll be fun...

Gypsy's going pretty well. I'm learning to twirl a baton (the girl playing Baby June has to learn as well...we also both have to get the splits in two and a half weeks...), and it's not terribly impressive but at least I don't drop it anymore (unless I try to do anything cool with it; my dance teacher at school tried teaching me how to do all this awesome stuff with it at lunch one day last week but I'm not doing too well with most of it). I have to dye my hair in like, two weeks. Ugghhh.

James Barbour has a REALLY awesome voice.

OH. OH MY GOSH. So apparently, they've already cast Tobias in the Sweeney Todd movie. And I don't know how many of you know this, but I'm completely in love with that character. It's my dream role AND I'm in love with Tobias in general. But apparently, stupid Tim Burton is going in a different direction with the role. As in casting a TEN-YEAR-OLD as Toby. I'm like...WTF. I googled his name in conjunction with Sweeney Todd for a long time last night, and all I found was some random person posting on a forum or something that he was about ten years old. So maybe they're wrong. I really hope they are. But I've always pictured Tobias as about fifteen, sixteen years old. Fourteen at the very youngest. He's just kind of slow...not ten. Ideally, they would have just cast Neil Patrick Harris again and made me swoon even more. (By the way, I saw this video of him doing Willkommen as the Emcee on Youtube...oh my goodness he is amazing...) But maybe this kid will be amazing. Maybe he'll bring a whole other element to Tobias that I just never thought about. Ohhh I hope he's incredible, I'll be really depressed if he's not.

So Musical Theatre Revue is only the best class ever. We're doing a revue in May, and we pretty much got to do whatever song we wanted. So what do you think I'm doing?? Yes, of course, Tobias' song from Sweeney Todd, Not While I'm Around. My cool friend Maya is my Mrs. Lovett, and it will be very fun. I adore the teacher...the second day of class, I heard this insanely familiar music coming from the speaker, and I was like hey! It's A Little Night Music! He likes some really good musicals, so I pretty much officially think he's amazing. And he's just amazing in general.

I'm glad I came to SOTA. I thought about going back in first semester, but I wouldn't leave now.

Not much else to say, I admit. Just doing my duty as an avid Livejournaler and filling you all in on the events of my life. Farewell!

EDIT: Okay, so yeah, they're going in a different direction with the Tobias thing or whatever, but now I've realized that IT SAYS IT IN THE SCRIPT that Tobias is a teenager.

Toby was not originally intended to be ten. I'm not happy.
