Sea, Sun and Jellyfish

There are advantages to living by the Mediterranean, I must say. Went to the beach today with my mother, caught a little sun (only a little mind, it was almost 6pm). I think I need to get out more, I am far too white. The sun is reflected of my skin and I can't see a damned thing. Trouble is, I don't tan - I burn and when the burn heals, I'm as white as I've ever been.
There were multitudes of jellyfish in all colours of the rainbow. I have no idea where they come from - just a few years ago you couldn't find a purple jellyfish for anything. People took to hunting them - just grabbing them by the...um...not stingy bit and throwing them out of the water. I'm terrified of them myself. I wasn't always, but a few years ago I was bitten by the mother and father of all jellyfish. The bugger gave me a chemical burn on my entire arm that took two months to heal. So I'm wary of the bastards now.
