TODAY I BOUGHT TMG ALBUMS :D :D :D

Six of them, to be precise: The Coroner's Gambit, All Hail West Texas, Heretic Pride, The Sunset Tree, Tallahassee, and The Life of the World to Come. We Shall All Be Healed and Sweden were also there, but I...don't know'em well enough to REALLY WANT TO BUY THEM the way I did the rest of these. (Yeah imma nuGoats I know, I know, I'm working on it but hueg back-catalogue is hueg. Also they don't carry Zopilote Machine, which I would've bought in a heartbeat, dammit. Don't have Ghana either, double damn.)

So uh...if you talk to me over the next 48 hours or so, it's likely gonna be a deluge of OMG THE MOUNTAIN GOATS (as if it wasn't bad enough normally). Fair warning!

God it feels good to pay JD money, how fucking strange is that, but I kinda want to feed him and keep the roof over his head so yeah and anyway he deserves every last motherfucking cent.

creating a tmg tag, because....yeah.

ETA: Fuck it, I've just had The New Album Experience, which is when you buy a new album, carry it home from the record store, take off the packaging, read all the liner notes, taste the cover, run your finger along the cd edge, and listen to it all the way through in its glorious entirety (hadn't heard most of Tallahassee before). It is a fucking awesome feeling! I kind of...I don't know if I want WSABH, I want to listen to the tracks to figure it out, but at the same time I don't want to know them when they're all out of place and without albumy context. Because listening to No Children in context of Tallahassee made me realize how much I'd been missing by memorizing just that track alone. Fuck. Fucking fuck.

Sweden, on the other hand, I'm getting tomorrow. Or at least very soon. Probably.

Maybe I could download just to try it out first...bah.

But yeah I've never had that experience with an album before! Because there're...not many modern artists that give me that feel. (I mean, seriously, how many musos put quotes from John fucking Fowles on the back of their covers? Or cite books on common law in the liner notes?) Or I'm really unused to buying cds. Both. I mean, the former causes the latter, which of course means that I don't know which artists DO do that for me and don't get the experience despite its possibility etc etc.
