Nothing, except that it is exceptionally out of character for him.

How would you know what's out of character for him, really? He's only been alive a month. He needs more time than that to develop his personality.

True. However, in the month that he's been alive, he has not come anywhere near frolicking before. You expressed surprise at his good mood yourself, I might add.

I expressed surprise at the hugging. He didn't strike me as a hugger. But I haven't even known him as long as you have.

Actually, since his brain patterns are based off Iron Lad's, and he DID enjoy the very rare frolick when he was around...
