UDDUP 76-78 speculations

First, if anyone missed it, chapters 58-59 60 are up in English. :)

(Ignore the rest if you don't read raws, unless you like to be spoiled.)

Secondly... I'm waiting impatiently for chapter 79. Due to lack of raws -- it's been about a month now -- I re-read the last few chapters again, particularly the end of ch.76 and 78.... ( SPOILERS! )

He probably is hoping that Mamoru will die while trying to annihilate the yakuza or something (and he will enjoy watching the show with a glass of champagne~), but he did state it that way 'sore ga tassei dekinakereba, Hijikata Mamoru wa muhouna hanzaisha toshite keisatsu ni hikiwatashimasu' -> 'if Hijikata can't fulfill the assignment I'll hand him over to the police as a criminal'

Oh and actually, when I think about it, I suppose that if you kill someone unintentionally you still would be punished, so I really don't know how Mamoru got away with it. But a lot must've happened afterwards, and I wonder whether Genda was there when it happened (since they already knew each other) or what else made him believe that Mamoru really intended to kill his sensei? And we still have to find out how he lost his sight afterwards, etc. Ah damn I should be studying but this is too distracting... I think I'm off to aikido now to release some energy. XD

I also read the conversation Genda and Mamoru had years ago, but if there were any implications I missed them - they're just talking about kendo training.

Or it was a bogus story to fool the others and the two are secretly partners, I still think they were on too friendly terms in that flashback.

Mamoru would that challenging (I can imagine him drinking champagne to something like that). Wiseman will probably be involved too.

Something bad will happen, I noticed Haruka had a vision when that guy announced that. o.o

It's possible Genda to be there, but Mamoru wouldn't be that stupid to do that under the nose of a detective?
Well, Igawa stated in the early volumes that Mamoru took down like ten guys and only killed his teacher. Probably the injury he got from another fight/incident made him get away with it?
I'd sure like to know the intention. Was it for his own or someone else's sake? .-. What did the sensei do to piss him off enough to commit a murder...? Hmmm.

Really? I wonder... They may have been on friendly terms before, but I get a feeling something happened that forced them to fall out --like that old cliche - say he asked Mamoru to kill someone for him in revenge, Mamoru goes all 'i don't kill people anymore~~~~' and the guy is now getting back at him for it. bah that really sounds corny... but it's to illustrate the kinda vibe I'm getting xD. And I don't remember Igawa saying that about Mamoru.. so he already knew Mamoru killed his teacher? o.O I gotta check back I guess.. ><

Also, there was a sinister comment Mamoru made about his special training because of his line of work, if i got this right - this was before he got blinded. possibly he worked for the guy already before he got blinded...? yosh, that's it, out of my system... for now.

Well, Igawa does not explicitily say about Mamoru having killed his teacher - just beaten up 10 guys and killed one. Somehow I'd completely read over that comment when I first read, it's when Mamoru raids the Kakuhoukai for the first time.

Where did Mamoru say that?

I gotta sleep now ><;

Ah i see. That makes sense... but maybe Igawa doesn't know who the killed guy was (or maybe it was someone different entirely).

Mamoru said that to Genda in ch.78 (the very end of their convo) when he explains about his training. Not sure I completely understood what he was saying though.

I second sleep... goodnight. x_X
