last night
well, as some of you know, WMMR held spring break 2004. my cousins band, the jealous type, won the spot to open through a 4 week contest consisting of over 200 bands. the show was at the liacouras center. i was asked to videotape the whole show, and it was an awesome night. i was backstage eating pasta and potatoes and getting plenty of free drinks. i used about 3 tapes up, and i shot automatic black's show as well, after being asked by the band. i just want to say how awesome this show was, and how pumped i was to be there. i can only imagine what it felt like to play for all those people. i was onstage for a couple minutes at one point to get some good shots of the crowd... and it was loaded with people. i was psyched, it was totally amazing. during the breaks in the following performances, everyone partied around the halls... i went around the audience with my camera, and got a couple flashers on their own will and drunk guys screaming real loud. the bikini contest was kind of lame. most of the girls did not belong in a bikini contest, if you know what i mean. some of the dj's came back and partied with the different bands. i felt like i was doing a documentary, like a spinal tap thing. i guess i am sort of. tom wants to use some footage in a music video. i was asked to film more stuff in the future at different venues like the troc and the tla. filming is fun, cause i like videographing, and i get to be at the show and i get to hang out with the bands and friends and family. but eventually, ill have to put the camera down when i am called on to be on the stage and rock the crowds of philadelphia. its gonna happen real soon.
