Author's notes: It's Tuesday, so I'm posting Tuesday's child. I'm sure you can guess what's AU about him...

It had been a month since the incident in Knockturn Alley. It had taken that much time to convince himself that what he saw wasn’t real; that it was some kind of bizarre magic at work. Now back at Hogwarts he was more relaxed, and had begun to forget all about it. He had studies to worry about now.

He was in the library, looking for a book called Many Magical Miracles for his Potions class. No matter how hard he looked, he just couldn’t find what he wanted! He walked up and down the shelves, his mind elsewhere; and only when he bumped into a figure, knocking it sprawling on the floor, did he wake up from his reverie.

The boy on the floor stood up, his head down so that Harry could only see the back of a mop of unruly raven hair as he straightened himself up. And as he lifted his head, Harry saw it - the book on Many Magical Miracles; nestled under his arm.

“Are you returning that?” he asked, before looking up into shocking green eyes - and, with a sense of impending déjà vu, stepping back.

The other boy didn’t seem to notice his nerves - he smiled and said, “I’m sorry, I’m afraid I’m borrowing it. Did you need it?”

“Oh…” Harry murmured, looking down; catching a glimpse of yellow and black as he did so. His eyes snapped back up. “Yes. I er…I did.”

The boy blushed, and stepped forwards, nervously. “I…I’d be prepared to give it to you. I hope you don’t think I’m presumptuous or anything…it’s just…I was wondering…”

“Wondering…” Harry expanded, breathlessly.

“…wondering if you wouldn’t mind kissing me,” replied the boy, “It’s just…my friends are always mocking me because I haven’t kissed anyone yet.” He paused. “I’d give you the book if you’d just kiss me. Please?”

It was such an absurd thing to ask - so thoroughly mad that it made Harry just stare slack-jawed at the boy for a few moments. So long that the boy said “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to offend…”

“Allright,” grunted Harry, looking hungrily down to the book. It wasn’t real, anyway - there was no way that a Hufflepuff version of himself was standing there, offering to trade him a book for a kiss.

The boy grinned, and it was like a sunbeam shining on him. Harry flushed a little deeper, and smiled weakly. He had only a moment to think about how odd it’d be to kiss another boy - and himself, technically - before the boy’s lips were on his own; kissing chastely and tensely.

It didn’t last for long, for the boy leant back and gave him the book, now an incredible colour of crimson. “Thank you so much,” he said, gracefully, placing the book down on the shelf and half running to disappear around the end of the row.
