Alas, I just upgraded my struts and springs to STi spec and what happens? My tranny goes balls up.
The mechanic at Findlay Subaru thinks it could be the bearings in the transmission, but he highly assumes some of the gears may be chewed up as well.
FUCK.
This is going to cost me 2 weeks without my car and oh... $2000-$2500.
I told them I'm going to wait until the new year so I can save up the dough. I figure by being sparingly with X-mas gifts, not eating out, sticking to home based entertainment and carrot sticks, not getting internet or a 360, I'll have saved up about half that by the new year (after adding in what's left after my recent strut install). My car will still drive, I just can't push it and it sounds like complete shit.

Silver lining... I suppose that this means I have a solid chance to do all the major upgrades I've been considering in that area, including (but not limited to), short throw shifter, upgraded clutch disc and cover, cryo-treated RA STi JDM gears. It'll add probably another $1000 to the cost of things, but it would perma-solve this and more than likely any future problems. Nevertheless...

That means my exhaust system can't be purchased and I can't afford to install the STi up-pipe and TMIC, let-alone get a Cobb dyno-tune and access port. At least not for another year.
