When Seth and Cheryl were both younger, I would carry them around together, one on each hip. They're only nine months apart, so they've always been close to the same size. Sometimes I would think about my Granny being in a similar position...probably with the older child just big enough to grasp onto her, facing inward, and with the younger child facing outward, balanced on a soft round hip in a soft, plump arm. Granny had eight children...well, she gave birth to nine, but her second baby, Pauline, died when she was a little over a month old. She would have been 73 sometime last April, and it'll be 73 years next week since she died...I can't remember the date, just that it was early June.

Not sure why I thought of this just now, but somehow, it seemed worth writing down.
