back to business
so i'm back from my "vacation" on catalina. 400+ campers and only 60/70 staff to make it go off without a hitch. in the end, we roxxorzed! the kids loved the costumes and theme. we saw some of the fires, mainly the palos verdes one which made us think the other cove was on fire and think about evacuating our campers. on the way home sunday we saw the pyrocumulus created by the station fire and damned if it didn't look like a nuke went off...got some pics of it but most of the pics will be up on facebook since that's my main chain nowadays.
have had to tone myself down since i'm also now diagnosed with hypertension so i needs to chill out a lot more. nothing strikes a sense of invincibility and immortality down like getting prescribed and medicated. *sigh* i'm old...jesus *self-apparates next to himself*...doh...
back at work already. the friend of mine who subbed for me while i was out of town got hired on as a new aide...so i'm helping stimulate the economy and workforce. she's real jazzed up about it...especially since we don't have to wear uniforms and all the kids seem to like her. my kids are more or less back to business too. for the time being all is quiet and hopefully it stays that way. i don't have the 6th graders anymore but i have the same amount of kids with the 7th and 8th graders.
would like to scream and shout to resolve the rest of the things on my noggin...but that's a no-no now...so how do i deal with it? lots of sleeping, reading, and walking around.
