There's a show on TV, about Mummies. Just happened to switch it on to watch them cut open a bronze coffin of some British lord that was mummified (who knows why).

Makes me wonder though, what will the people of the future think of our rituals of death? Will the historians of 3003 in order to get a better image of what our day-to-day life was like dig up our graves?

I suppose it makes precious little difference to us, I plan to be long dead or still immortal then anyway, but it really seems kind of perverse. What are we willing to do for proverbial knowledge?

Hmm... on that point, I find it even odder that it's illegial to use the recently dead for science in many ways, but it's okay with the ancient dead. Humans are a strange folk.
