You really have a talent for writing pieces that really just grip the reader and take them along for a wonderfully written emotional ride. This just oozes frustration and desperation, and the last two paragraphs really had me startled with the glimpse of untempered ferocity.

Thank you! I wanted to show him losing his temper, if only briefly. I imagine he startled himself, and was ashamed immediately after.
