I had classes on social interaction, actually. I think it helps a lot when you get a great deal of information telling you how to act, and why you should act that way, while you are still in a formative phase.

They were kind of twee, and this is me saying it. But they were what I needed at the time, and there's a respectability in usefulness. Mind you, I learned the more advanced nuances of human interaction from crime shows.
Overly sweet. Horribly, horribly, dangerously naive and sweet. I think it's pretty unfair to tell someone with the mind of a child that everyone likes them and wants them to be safe and happy when it's patently untrue.
The crime shows were mostly about teaching me that people aren't all good and nice, in a safe format. I'm not so sure it worked as well as planned.

People aren't, but in everyday life the criminals are a minority.
