Prolog and week 1

So Dan asked me how seminary was and I thought hmmmm maybe I should make another post. I know 2 posts in a year for me pretty impressive. However, this seems like the way to stay in contact (facebook being the other way, but it seems that some of u's out there don't like facebook)so in the interest of not falling off the face of the planet i will concede and post things on here now.

Prolog was a 10 intensive course I took in August. It really was just orientation on steroid's. There were a lot of different seminar's that we took to get us accustomed to life on a seminary campus. Thinking theologically was the main point of all the session and the main theme of prolog. Here they stress public theology which seems to me is the same thing as saying be involved with you community and share Christ's love with them whenever possible and (some of you will recognize this part) use words when needed. There were some unpleasant seminar as well. I can explain y unpleasant to ppl on an individual basis's if u need to know. We participated in an Anti-Racism seminar and a Ethics for Church leaders seminar both interesting. YAY that 2 weeks is over and we can move on with our lives.

We had a long weekend and then opening convo was Tuesday. We had a amazing Eucharist service. I had been feeling unsure that I had come to the right place until I participated in worship that day it was an amazing experience. Worshiping with over 100 seminarians and many ordained clergy was just so fun. Partially because you do not have to cut things out of the liturgy. We had a full liturgy and I think it may be the first one that I have every been in where nothing was cut out. (so Dan to answer your question from about a year ago about where do you have to go to get a full uncut service I think the only place you can go is seminary. Just one more reason to go uncut liturgy. wink wink...)Anyway amazing....class started on Wed.

At this point I think that i should give you my schedule.
Monday 8:30-10:30 Thinking about God (plenary)
Tuesday 9-11 greek (Plenary, and session)
2-3 NT 1 (plenary)
Wednesday 8-11 History of Christianity (plenary)
2-3 NT1 (Session)
Thursday 8:30-10:30 Greek (Plenary and session)
10:45-1145 NT 1 (plenary)

So thus far I have had every class except my systemics class that meets on Monday. All of my classes went well and I think that I am going to have a very good time taking them. The only class I am concerned with is Greek because the instructor dose not seem to know how to teach. We will see how things go.

For you Stargate people out there I have a running count of 4 of you (B, D, A, X) if please let me know if this is correct and if any more are planning on coming. (I know that B and D) are the only 2 that check this so if you could ask around please.) If this is accurate I will call sometime this weekend or early next week to talk tickets so that we can start thinking about how much we are going to spend. Well, it is about 10 till noon and the refectory open soon so I need to shower real fast and go eat. I have loads of hw to work on after lunch (yes i plan to do things ahead of time here) I will ttyl
