Not quite....

When John Sculley was backed by the board of directors at Apple over a project we will get to in a minute, Steve Jobs QUIT in a hissy fit. 7 years later John's pet project didnt really catch on at the time and Jobs came back in and used his voting power to become the CEO again....fine....

John Sculleys pet project was something a little more revolutionary than an IMPROVED UPON (usb 1 was already out) way to connect devices (btw, firewire vs usb 2.0 is debatable)

It was called the Newton. A precursor to the handheld craze which besieged the late 90's. It was Sculley that was ahead of his time, Jobs just created his own version of plug and play.

Also you should research your financial history as well, Apple almost tanked AGAIN after Jobs took the reigns. Their are two reasons why the company exists today. Pixar and Microsoft. One made a killing in 1995 for the company (it was bought on a whim and left to run itself for years) the other company invested a substantial amount of money in Apple to save it from going under.

I own an improved version of the MP3 player. Note, I owned an MP3 player back in my freshman year of college which had similar features to the ipod as it relates to ease of use.....When there is another improvement, I will purchase that. Nothing revolutionary here.
