Happy 2006!
Happy New Year! I just returned from a nice, long stint in N.J. I ended up having a longer holiday break from teaching than I originally thought I would (December 22-January 9), so I got to spend more time with people. I started out in Jersey City with Amanda. We had a lot of fun going out in the city, hanging out in J.C. with her neighbors, shopping, watching way too much SVU, and more! Cory was there, too, and I got to see Mike Ferdinand, so it was a good time! (I'm sorry I missed you, Bryan!) On Tuesday, I headed up to Randolph to see Meghan. We did our usual: shopping, talking, hanging out, skiing. Skiing was great because it wasn't too cold, and we rented from Pelican this year, so we didn't have to deal with Mountain Creek's stupid $300 security deposit that they put on your credit card to protect their equipment...you get the $ back but it's still annoying. ANYway, I got back to Hotlanta today. Now I've got the weekend to relax, get back to dieting, and get ready to go back to work on Monday. Thanks everyone for making my NJ trip so much fun!!
Addendum: In light of my new knowledge of the fact that an unexpected person still reads my journal, I thought I should add some info to clear up his/her former misunderstandings. Hopefully this will make the person stop running his/her mouth about my life. Here it is:
1. Yes, I did say that I was going to move back to London. However, that was my plan while I was still IN London. When I returned to the states in June, I looked for jobs in London, NYC, NJ, Atlanta, and Virginia. I got a job teaching 2nd grade near Atlanta, so I took it. I plan to stay there this year, next year, and then hopefully find a teaching job in London for the 2007-2008 school year.
2. My best friend to whom you referred does NOT have only a part-time job. She, in fact, has a full-time, very well-paying job and has been independent for at least 2 years now.
~Okay, so that should clear that up. Any questions, please ask me directly.
