I took my last official exam from this University today.  Nothing too stressful.  What's done is done.

One of the topics was national branding.  We spent a good amount of time discussing Molson's (beer) use of a brand to create a sense of Canadianism.  It started with this television ad which I have always thought to be quite amusing.  I don't believe it ever ran in the States, but I think it of great value--and Canada did too.  It's interesting how Molson comes as an afterthought in the commercial, but its still obvious who is running the ad.

What really gets me, though, is this ad.  Its the follow up to the former.  Call me a sucker, but I love this ad.  I've been singing its song for weeks now in my head and it kept me company while I was taking the exam.  Its been so embedded in my mind that I'm actually starting to wonder if Canada is worth spending time in.  And the other day while shopping for a new beer I felt myself reaching for Molson--but then realized what I was doing before I followed suit.

Whew.  That was close.
