sand dunes, salty air

Suddenly, she grabs at her mouth and when her hand comes away, she’s clutching a tooth. Tripping over herself she grabs onto the lip of a drinking fountain and makes a RETCHING noise over the edge. Teeth come spilling out of her mouth. CLOSE ON: The sink of the drinking fountain, teeth bouncing around inside the rim with high pitched CLICKING noises. LEYNIE collapses onto the ground face down. LEYNIE (through half sobs) Get up! Get UP! Dragging herself up onto her knees LEYNIE looks into the basin of the drinking fountain. CLOSE ON: The sink of the drinking fountain. White, smooth, and with nothing inside it. LEYNIE reflexively brings up her fingertips to her mouth, she touches all her teeth. They’re still there.
