snakes why did it have to be snakes

Has been awhile since i posted well about anything. Right now I feel like a mom yelling at her kid in this case my oldest corn snake Dresden (bonus points if you guess who i named him after) is refusing to eat. The girls however are perfectly fine and eating well Odie wasn't fed this week because she's shedding and getting bigger by the month it seems. Aside from the not eating Dresden has been perfectly fine alert and moving about his cage. So far all my research points to he's in let's mate mode so like a guy everything else gets ignored. Well sad to say after last years issue when I discovered Saxon to be a girl by her laying a dozen eggs on me I separated the two into different cages. He's not getting ANY snake loving from Saxon this year. He's cut off. I dropped another hopper into the feed tub today in the vain hope he'll eat so far he's been doing the trick of getting her into thinking i'm going to take the mouse but then try to dart out of the cage at the last second move. This is where I feel like a mom yelling at a kid and this scene played in my mind.
me: Dresden eat your dinner!
Dresden: i don't wanna
Me: its a mouse dammit the same kind of mouse I've been feeding you for almost 3 years now!
Dresden: I don't want the mousey!
Me: Dammit there are starving Snakes in Africa that would LOVE that mouse right about now!
Dresden: I'm not hungey...
Me: Oh yes you are you haven't eaten in almost three weeks now tell me why you do not want to eat.
Dresden: :P
Yeah so a little frustrated right now at my snake.
