But I'm Busy Mending Broken Pieces Of The Life I Had Before...

Too hot to sleep.

The wisdom of insomnia prompted me to search the web for videos of muse playing live.

Found many of them. Wow :)

I love how much energy goes into a performance. The studio album, no matter how well produced, can't quite capture this because in a studio, things can be tweaked or rerecorded, but live... well, you have to be a pretty fine musician to bounce around the stage that much and still play the way they do.

Mind you, some of their other early gigs, like the Bizarre festival, are equally entertaining for being a little less polished and for criminally bizarre hairstyles... bless 'em.

Found the video from the first muse single I ever heard - Unintended - which was their soppy one. They were so young and clean cut back then, very sweet. And that was where I was emotionally at at the time it came out; I suppose I grew more angsty as they did :)

Favourite live ones have to be Hysteria as played at Glastonbury 2004, and New Born from Reading.

The award for creepiest video must go to Sunburn. Have always adored the Time is Running Out video because the choreography of the shooting/guitar riff is fantastic.

Wow.

And also... *sigh* - One year I will get to see them, when I'm not on holiday / doing finals / at a friend's wedding. Timing, guys, timing! Come ooon... play one I can get to!

Yet another incoherent, muse-obsessed post brought to you by the-girl-who-may-be-listening-to-one-album-too-much...

insomnia, muse, links, videos, music
