One of the greatest mysteries of life is how many calories are in one whole bag of microwave popcorn. The label gives you the amount of calories per serving, and apparently a serving is unpopped. I don't know about the rest of civilized humanity, but I, for one, prefer to eat my popcorn popped. I know I am probably missing out of the joy of cracked molars and uncomfortable bowel movements, but call me crazy.
Anyhoo, so on the label they give you the serving size in unpopped kernels, and then tell you that this makes one cup of popped corn...but the amount of servings per bag is the amount of unpopped kernels and then they give you the amount of cups of popped corn in the bag and tell you if one bag of popcorn was headed west on a train going 590 MPH it would collide with a vat of butter traveling east going 479 MPH at 4:29 p.m. So, you pretty much have to get out a calculator, slide rule, abacus and decoder ring to figure out how many calories the whole bag has. I know I did the math on this once, but I'll be damned if I actually remember what the number was, and I really don't ever feel like doing the math again. So, if anyone out there with a masters degree in calculus can tell me the answer, I would be very happy because it is very rare that I not eat the entire bag because I am a huge pig.
