Food

I ran out of money this week due to being on school holidays and not getting paid this month. But I went to visit Mary's cats while she was on holiday and her student/landlord fed me for two days and gave me money. Plus I got to play with the cats and watch cable (even if the best thing on is Wheel of Fortune, not even like, so lame that it's kind of ok John Burgess Wheel of Fortune either, like American Pat Sajak and Vanna White BAAAAD Wheel of Fortune with crazy American contestants).

They just get like, so excited about being on Wheel of Fortune. It's hilarious. Anyway the point of all this is that Mary's student made me eat squid guts, which are apparently really good for you. I was drunk at the time and he assured me that in the heat because you sweat so much you need to put salt back into your body, so of course the logical way would be to eat the gut of a squid. Not as gross as it sounds, actually it really did just taste like salt, really salty like when you swallow sea water. I feel like it's the first 'crazy' food I've eaten over here so I'm proud of myself. But then I went to Maccas for dinner the next night. Oh well, I tried.

Oh yeh, last time I was at Maccas I was waiting for my order and this crazy japanese couple came up next to me, flipped the menu over to the English side (I'd used the Japanese side) and proceeded to try and order in English, either to impress me or weird me out or I don't know. But I was pissing myself and the girl serving them was just looking at them and then at me like "Do you know them?". And I'm like, well it might be impressive if you were trying to say open a bank account or buy a plane ticket in English like we have to in Japanese, but it's fricking McDonald's! Cheeseburger is the same in both languages!! And even when they were reading the English it still sounded like 'chiizubaagaa'. Yet another case of people spouting random English at me for no reason, still haven't figured out why they do it....
