By jove, I think I've finally got it!

Laura are coming from. We're not speaking the same language. No idea why this didn't occur to me before but clearly she's not speaking English.
It's kind of like how Spanish & French sound remarkably similar even though they're different languages. Or how the people in England say we're really not speaking the same language they are.
Just have to figure out what it is that's she's speaking and then get me an interpreter.
