...which proved to be a difficulty that night. Someone I'd been watching, lovely little thing in a Halloween pirate hat and a green top and striped bottoms, grabbed me and pulled me onto the dancefloor. The response she got from suave little me? I fled! Kind of a blind panic thing, probably amusing as all Hell to watch. I made peace a long time ago with the fact that I can't dance...it makes me exceedingly uncomfortable.
Moving right along...

Bondage·A·Go·Go 8:41 AM 6/22/2006 · I'd almost called in sick that morning but was feeling fine by midday. Still, wasn't quite up for hunting but I definitely didn't want to miss the show. Honestly can't recall the last time they had a pirate themed night at the club and I've always liked that sort of thing. That and waiting for the club to open after work has become much easier since I've discovered there's a Borders just around the corner of a few other corners, just passed Safeway. Killed a couple hours there going through some X·Men graphic novels.
I'm a geek...deal.
Not going to go all Romper Room on you and list everyone I saw but it was a decent night even without working my claws on anyone. Upstairs was kinda dead, most of the night, but that's not too unsual for a specialty theme evening. My back was screaming for a massage but that's not an option anymore...
short form: I was informed by
Warlock that, a couple months back, I apparently spooked de massage lady. Given his tendency to exaggerate I'm sure he's overstating this somewhat...but I dropped her LJ a comment to be on the safe side; totally in the dark as I didn't do anything I don't normally do that night. Anyway, until such a time as she's comfortable working on me again...I'm not asking for one. I'm no stranger to back pain so I'll just have to cope.
The Pirate Booty contest was great, though I really only had my eye on two contestants: Ruby, the girl I thought should've been one of the finalists of the Miss BAGG Contest, and the one that wound up winning. Nice when these things pan out! I'd asked
Whitney why she wasn't getting up with the rest of the contestants but she explained she was workjing which I just let go. Back in ye grande olde days of the Trocadero it was the standard that the clubs performers didn't take part in the contests so I was used to that. However, practically ever other female performer working that night, including
Loser·of·Nametags from security, entered. I'm not 100% sure they were all working that evening but I'd bet money on most of them:
9 our newly crowned Miss Bondage A Go Go,
Daria·Jun·ish (wasn't positive it was her till I saw her back), some new dancer that had been in the cage before and after
Jenelle, and someone else but I'm blanking on her name just now. It was a very impressive display, even from the ones I wasn't cheering for.
Back to my wee panic,
Jenelle told me I should go talk to her and explain the situation and after a bit I did. She was entirely cool with it and suggested getting drunk might help me get over it. Didn't have the heart to tell her I can't stand the taste of alcohol. Oh well.
Other little things...
Creech gave me 3 free tickets to the Spank·A·Lot reserved area but (as weird as this is gonna sound from someone that's been going to this club for over a decade) I'm not that big into spanking. Like a certain sex act, that I won't specify, I don't generally offer spanking unless it's requested. Might be cuz I was spanked as a child and don't find the concept at all enjoyable but I still appreciated the gesture on his part.
Had a chance to talk with
Jenelle at some length this past weekend at a BBQ and I complimented her on the performance she'd done for the Miss BAGG Contest. She told me that was nothing, I should see her dance under noromal conditions; she did not lie. Since I've been going to the club I've basically established there are 4 levels of dancing: should never be allowed to, can strut their stuff almost to the music, good dancer, and those that are so good they can take the music places the original artist didn't imagine. Since I've been going I can only think of about 5 dancers that fit in that final category and she's definitely one of them. Just...Wow!
There was also a pirate treasure contest, stuff hidden throughout the club, but I didn't pick up on that till too late to do anything about it. Spent most of the night on my favorite perch and was quite comfortable (least till I discovered the club has a small ant problem and guess where?) so when I learned this I searched as thoroughly as I could my immediate surroundings; no joy there. They played Evil Dead 2...I think, hard to tell as the 2nd one was just a remake of the 1st, and something from the Final Fantasy series. Was kinda hoping for something piratey, Pirates of the Carribean or even that one with Gina Davis in it. Sadly, they actually were playing Pirates of the Carribean but it was up front and I didn't find out till late.
That's about it. If you didn't go you missed out big! Can't think of much that could've made the night better...
...unless I can find a way to talk the higher·ups there to make
9 one of those ribbons you see in Miss America pagents; black vinyl with silver lettering.
