Predator vs. You!
Back in 2003 when I first started setting up LJ accounts I had 3 sockpuppet ones (RPG) and one of them was a Predator: 
Ghrell. I wrote fairly steadily in it for about a year before I eventually got overwhelmed with a lot of other things but I had a blast doing it. From that account I recruited the first few people to my
Aliens·&·Predator community, including
Theide who went exceptionally giddy everytime I put up a new post.
I've got a little writing challenge for you, any that dare accept it, that's kind of specific. You should have plenty of time for this as this is a 3·day weekend coming up...what with Labor Day being on Monday...and it doesn't even need to be that long. A goodly number of us love the whole Aliens vs. Predator scenario, and several variations thereof, and I had a really silly idea for a post a couple days back when I wanted to see what other people might come up with. Instead of pairing the Predator up against some other random fandom...why not face it off with yourself?

- Write a short story, you can setup how it presents itself on your own, about your battle against the Predator and then post it this coming Tuesday.
- The Predator gets any and all assorted weapons you are aware of from that creature's fandom...but you don't. You can only use what you actually own.
- I don't want to see you all writing about yourself as some special forces, superhuman, fighting machine unless you actually are one. If you're a big fat couch potato in real life...well, that's what you've got to work with.
- The only weapons you can use are the ones you own. Whatever you have around your house. If your uncle is a big game hunter then more power to you...but unless he lives around the corner it is not likely you'd live long enough to get his weapons.
- This is your story so you may take small liberties with the truth...so far as they do not conflict with the other rules.
- Most important: All stories should be submitted to
Aliens·&·Predator as separate posts! Do not add your story in the comments section of another post...leave that for anyone that wants to comment on your work.
