Holiday bit & pieces

  • This past Sunday was a very special day in that it was
Violet's birthday. Yet it was not so special that I choose to spell her nickname correctly.
  • For some odd reason or other, XMAS Eve had an allout romance fest...a number of movies that I recognize as being the most heart touching in all the world. Someone Like You for example, a particular favorite of mine. It is the merest of chances they did not play Serendipity or I'd've been neck deep in ice cream as that movie always blows me away.
  • Chalk it up to the XMAS Spirit or something but since about last Thursday I've been trying to get ahold of
Raven. At first to wish her Happy holidays, then to wish her a happy XMAS Eve, and finally to wish her a Merry XMAS. All met with failure as she was not there to receive any of them. The suspicious side of me wonders if maybe she actually was, checking off a list of convenient excuses, but this is largely why I keep my paranoid side under wraps.
  • XMAS Eve, TBS specifically, played A Nightmare Before Christmas about 4 times in a row and I was pretty much glued to the tube for most of it. Haven't seen that movie in forever and I'd forgotten how much I love it.
  • Today is
Emily's birthday, whom I'd give a big birthday hug and kiss were she around. The hug would not be a problem I'm sure and I doubt there'd be much issue with the kiss as I'm fairly positive that I can outrun her boyfriend.
  • The war with the ants proceeds slowly. I definitely think I had the upperhand before I left for XMAS Family stuffs but that was before I saw a few near my sink. I'm more than a bit worried that when I get home tonight that will be 2 feet deep of ants. Part of the problem in getting rid of this pestilance is looped into why I've not been inviting anyone over in awhile; my place is a mess. You get me in a good funk and I delete the word tidy from my brainpan. I suspect where they initially gained access to my place is under one of the biggest clumps of messes, in and around my desk, which would explain why they keep popping back up where I have been spraying them as opposed to how it usually is when I spray and don't see them again for just shy of a year.
