changing of the guard

9:18 PM 11/19/06 · This is going to be an interesting week at work...what there will be of it. One of my co·workers' wife has taken ill, as described by my boss she's got more tubes in her than all the Borg Collective, so I'm filling in for his shift which is a late one. A bit too late as it happens...kinda pushes the bounds of my getting back home those nights. Then again there is the side benefit that I'll be getting a 4·day weekend out of the deal.

Gods Above, that sounds callous.

The guy works weekends and Monday through Thursday. Turkey Day takes out a day there and as he doesn't work Fridays I won't have to this week either. Since I'm only covering his shift for this week I don't need to worry about this coming weekend either...

...in theory. It's difficult to plan a timetable based on someone's health.

I'll be working this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 4pm till whenever it is I can manage and still get home. Last two trains out of San Francisco are at 10pm and 12:01am. I'd like to shoot for that last one but the MUNI throws a bit of a bind in considering it doesn't run as late as thr Caltrain does. I'll need to look into that before I get to work.

It's funny, I spend so much time living through my journal...for wont of an actual life that I actually took time to consider how this brief little switch was going to effect that. I'm used to posting once when I start my shift, another around lunch, and maybe something else if I have it to my own journal...not counting what else I may post to various communities.

I've very little concept of what LJ is like after the sun goes down.
