I recently, last month, got a new pair of pants. They're charcoal gray, great for work, and have a stretchy waist... which is good as it turns out pandemics are fattening. Been wearing them awhile now but this past Friday I had a hand in my left pocket (which is weird as that's not happened much during the aforementioned pandemic) and I discovered a hole.
This came as quite a shock as the pants are not only new but I couldn't figure out how a hole got torn in there.
Was chatting with family on the phone at the time, got encouragement it could likely be fixed easily and would the next time we gathered, and after that ended I continued to wait for the bus. My insatiable curiosity had me checking out the hole a bit more... upper part of the pocket, near to the crotch, and I could feel my underwear.
Most notably though it didn't have any rough edges, which seemed truly bizarre for a tear.
Later that day, impulse or instinct had me checking the other side and I discovered in my right pocket a corresponding hole, exactly where the one in the left pocket is.
They're not holes... I mean, they are but apparently they're supposed to be where they are.
It's a design feature!
Not sure what to make of that.
