THON
THON was this weekend and 4.2million dollars was raised for the 4 Diamonds Fund.
Here are some thoughts and surprises of the weekend:
1) I was very close to crying many, many times. I don't cry. I don't like and find it awkward, but this was powerful stuff. I havn't cried since 2002 and havn't almost cried since Coventry. I was that moving. Friday and Sunday were the problem days. Friday I keep thinking about Grandad and Sunday's family hour got to me. In the stands I was fine, but on the floor was nuts. Its that moving.
2) We do this for the kids, but couldn't they be a little more abstract? I don't like kids in general and especially when everyone is telling them how great they. When no one is disciplining them they can be a real hassle.
3) It stinks on the floor.
4) Do people fall asleep on the john? Yes and apparently happens enough where its no big deal.
5) All the moralers passed out on the track during the last few hours was classic.
MOST IMPORTANT
6) I want to dance. Never thought I would but I guess I didn't get it. Its a chance to be part of something big. Real big. The community aspect is incredible, the power and emotion of everything is just...wow. I can't really even explain it. Its that big.
