Literary stuffs!

The New York Times has been on a literary roll lately so I just want to give them some recognition!

BEST ESSAY PUT ON THE BOOK REVIEW COVER FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON:
"The Book of Books: What Literature Owes the Bible" by Marilynne Robinson, 12/25/11
Robinson is one of the greatest writers alive and no one else could have written this piece.

BEST BOOK ABOUT HOW PEOPLE ARE CRAZY AND ILLOGICAL
Review of Robert Trivers' "The Folly of Fools" by John Horgan
Horgan, who is himself crazy, is the source for concepts popularized by people like Edward O. Wilson, Steven Pinker, and Richard Dawkins.

BEST ESSAY ON SHAKESPEARE'S "CORIOLANUS" EVER:
"Revisiting Shakespeare’s ‘Coriolanus’" by Ruth Franklin, 1/20/12
To see this play written about at all is a miracle, but I've never seen such an insightful look at it. It was met with near-universal indifference: 9 people commented on it. (For comparison, a recent article on autism had 644 comments; a column on Keynes had 688.)
