i am not dead!
so, it's been a reeeally long time since i updated. oops. anyway, i can't give a full update, but i will give some highlights.
- ben coming to visit again on may 16.
- last band concert ever on may 17. i never have to play my french horn again. i wonder if i'll actually miss it after a while. but it will be too late because i have returned it to the school! muahaha.
- last high school chorus concert on may 18. we sang "can you feel the love tonight" by elton john and "in my life" by the beatles. no godawful vaughan williams this time, thank god. i loathe that man with a passion. i'd kill him, except he's been dead for centuries already. baumann split up all the solos, which got rather ridiculous. when seven people get a solo in one song of about 2 minutes, that's going overboard with "spreading the wealth". what about-- don't give solos to the people that suck? that'd be one way to do it. (for the record, i did get one of the solo bits.)
- last day of high school was may 20.
- last ballet show (at the ballet academy, anyway) on may 21. for the first time ever, i was somewhat satisfied with my performance. of course, seeing the tape at the cast party changed that. i will probably never get my arms to be correct in ANY position. oh well. anyway, at the time i was happy. lots of relatives came to see me, plus ben, tim (though that was probably more for jenn, i still count it :P), and ms. vee. i was really happy to see her.
mildly amusing side note before i continue updating: russell just called my cell phone. when i picked up, he said hello, and then asked why i called. silly boy.
- prom was also may 21, so i spent all day after the morning show getting ready. i got my hair done all pretty and got fake nails (the last of which finally came off just wednesday), and came home and dressed and did my makeup. my dress was bright pink (fuchsia, just for jenn) and strapless, with a tight bodice and a big poofy tulle skirt. my shoes were pointe shoes out of which i'd ripped the shank, and then spray painted silver. i was pleased with myself for thinking of that. anyway, ben looked super awesome in his tux and everything, and off we went. i showed him off to everyone and we had lots of fun. we left a little early to go get ice cream, because i hadn't had any in more than a month because of my crazy diet to fit my prom dress. so he bought me a milkshake, and we went to the school-sponsored post prom party. twas fun. there was moonbounce twister and stuff. and also strawberries. we had fun, and went home around 4 am and cuddled for awhile before sleeping. if ben scans the prom pictures, i'll post them here.
- we went to the beach on may 25. it was cold, but we swam for awhle anyway, then wandered about for the rest of the day. a nasty storm when we were driving back made us hide for an hour before crossing the bay bridge.
- jenn's last day of school was may 28, so we hung out with her and tim at the inner harbor in baltimore for a few hours. then jenn had to go home, so we left her and then went to a carnival thingy near tim's house. twas fun. we went on the 2 mph mini rollercoaster. w00t.
- various graduation events the following week, with graduation on thursday june 3. very long and boring. i didn't get any awards. i wasn't expecting any, but it's a tad embarrassing.
- six flags on june 4 with ben, willie, tim, jenn, marissa, and alina. lots of fun on rainy rides.
- ben left on june 5. it was very sad.
- wisdom teeth surgery on monday. unpleasant, but my recovery was pretty quick. i was able to go out to dinner with rep people the same day; i just had to order really soft food.
- yesterday i went to columbia mall with willie, and then rented love actually with marissa. great movie.
that's about all the intelligent thought you're getting out of me for now. it's way too early. so, have some little memes. byebye! it'll be at least monday before i write again (if then!), since i'm going whitewater rafting with the girl scouts tomorrow.
