The Last Christmas Cheer

Dec 14, 2006 22:25

"There I stand over in observance of a blissful celebration, upon a tower, laying out repressed thoughts and memories. The ledge cradles my toes as the chill of the dry wind brisk through my overcoat as I stare into the night, celebrating the one birth with my own demise. To my left, windows sparkle shine of red and green, trees in decoration and bell tolling music and chant. To my right, and below, the glistening white carpet of powder and glee. Scenes of nativity from across the midway, white dust from the sky fall as talcom, and a paper wish from my mother in hand. "I love you and your father does too! Come home soon, we miss you" the inscription says. A golden bow tethered to its cover, I see the darkness as I fall from the sky to the bliss below. Happiness lies where no one will know, nor see, nor fear. I lay my soul out for this night to end, and a journey to follow. I love you too, from now until the end. Goodbye."

A short story by me. Not the best, but something to make people think.
