Fly Fishing
Over the Memorial Day weekend, I decided take up fly fishing while visiting home. I bought a fly rod and and some of the basics, and yes, it is definitely an expensive hobby. But I already own waders, so I didn't have to splurge on those.
I went to the upper Farmington River in Connecticut, which is a fantastic area to trout fish, and caught my first brown trout. Yay. Fly fishing is so much more fulfilling than bait and spin fishing. You have to actually think about what you are doing and what the fish are doing and what is going on in the ecosystem around you.
I'm taking a class, hopefully, later in the year to really get my technique down.
