Saw that some recent flicks are still going the route of Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital copy AND DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital copy...yes, I just typed the same thing in different order.
The fun thing...places like Target carry both versions (same discs, different box)...but, since the DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital copy version is in DVD packaging...it's CHEAPER! Kid you not! $19.99 vs $27.99. No brainer there...even though I prefer the slim, spiffy BD packaging...it's not 8 bucks cool.
So if you're looking for a movie on BD...check the DVD packaging (and, of course double check the features list on the back to make sure they ARE the same thing) first.
Also, again extolling the virtues of Target's pricing. Saw The Big Bang on BD for 8 bucks...after I already spent 15 on the DVD version...GAH! And their prices on new release BD AND DVD for the first week continue to outstrip other stores hands down.
Also, quick question...anyone out there with a non-PS3 blu-ray player that has Netflix/Youtube apps...how does that work? Is there a menu to choose from at start up? Does it run Youtube XL(which freezes up like nobody's business on my PS3, what's up?!) Is it usb keyboard compatible, if not, how do I navigate YouTube/Netflix with their remote (onscreen virtual keypad)? Looking at gift ideas for someone and need info...as most sales clerks only know "Yes, it plays DVD and Blu-Ray." "Gee, thanks for that..."
