I am terrible about updates as I keep saying.
Minecraft is still an addiction. After the Sky Factory 2.5 mod, there was Banished, which is a lot of fun. Then there was Mindcrack. It was okay but I still think of MC as fantasy and this has a lot of tech, so my friend did that. That's not bad but tech seems to be faster, easier, and more powerful than magic, so he tended to get top tier stuff long before I did. The current one is a mod called Regrowth. The idea is that something happened that took most life from the world and my job is to bring it back. It's fun and the grinding and then magic and tech I have to do work for me and teach me th emods. I'm doing it single player this time around and that also works for me. I wonder how much money I could have saved if I had found this game earlier? Although the mod I use that's most havily modded came out on in June of 2014, compared to beta in 2010 to 2011, so not much earlier with what I like.
I also tried No Man's Sky. Then I tried to refund it and was refused five times. I had played ten hours, eight hours over their allowed time, but had heard they were letting that go this time. NMS is not a bad game. It's just not good for me. The grinding part is not fun. There is no tutorial. Worse than that, for a SciFi game, there is no map, no waypoints, no fast travel to return to where I have been, and movement is slow. Cargo is by slot, not by weight, so an upgrade plate takes up the space of a full stack of iron, for example. Again, not bad but needs some refinement to be fun for me.
Gaming has been good. We finally got over the hump in Strands of Fate and like it more. Still more to figure out but I think all of us like the narrative approach of the game. I also see that Alternity is getting a reboot. As exiciting as it is, they don't have access to the material, it's that the Alternity trademark expired and they have that. So they can't do the same campaign settings. So, it will be interesting to see what they do with that but they won't even have a play test release until next year sometime.
Healthiwse, I am doing pretty well. The heat has been brutal on this summer. Looking forward to fall. A few minor things, such as an ingrown toenail that I have to deal with but not much in the grand scheme of things.
