Yesterday I reached the end of 66. There really was nothing to mark it unfortunately. There may once have been, however it currently ends where 10 now sits so maybe the addition of the interstate tore whatever marker there was down. The last leg of the trip went by relatively without much to note. I am not really into the Hollywood scene so I didn't have much an interest in the area attractions. So I drove right on through to Santa Monica. I arrived in the late afternoon. Even though I only had about 75 miles left it took about 4 hours as it was all in city driving. I checked into my Hotel and then went to Venice beach to see the Pacific. It is quite cold and the sea weed here is a lot more interesting than the stuff in the Atlantic. Today I went to see the La Brea Tar Pits and then I drove up to Hollywood Blvd and went to Ripley's Believe It or Not and then walked around a little. The I headed back to my Hotel and changed for the beach and went to read on the beach and take some pictures of the upcoming sunset. I am right near Venice Beach which is really where most of the eccentrics congregate. It is the beach that you see on the movies that always has all the street performers and musicians and all the people on roller blades. It is also famous for "muscle beach" a public weight lifting area along the walkway. Tomorrow I am going to try to do a studio tour and then I will head to Disney Land.
