Oooooh, after my complaint of never finding shojo with decent endings I find two. (btw just so everyone knows, I have been reading the endings through online scans...)

First is Akuma de Sourou (The Devil Does Exist), by Mitsuba Takanashi. This is a story about a girl, named Kayano, who after trying to confess her feelings for her crush--which go awry, in that she "confesses" to the wrong guy--ends up having a bit of trouble with the boy, who's name is Takeru, she accidentally confessed to. After deciding that Takeru is a pretty bad person, her mother announces that she will be marrying the boy's father.

Things end up going quite different from what I expected, Kayano does end up confessing to the right guy, but soon after finds out that he wasn't what she had been expecting at all. Much to my surprise, she actually does fall for Takeru, (any girl would after seeing all his good points :P) even though they are soon to be brother and sister. Takeru likes her as well, and he's not afraid to say it, nor does he care what others think. So, to that ending I was talking about, I suppose it was quite quick, but the whole manga was fast paced, so perhaps that's why I found it fine. The very last chapter is adorable in that it takes the view of their little (half) brother, as he attends Takeru and Kayano's wedding.

I do recommend it, as it ends up being quite cute, and, oh my, is the art ever gorgeous. It makes me drool looking at it all. :P

The other manga is Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend) by (glee) Yuu Watase. I had read a random chapter of this one before, as I have liked anything by Yuu Watase that I've gotten a hold of, but it didn't really grab me. Oh man, I guess my first impression was waaaaay off, as I found myself, totally engrossed as I started to read from the beginning. Basically, the story goes that Riiko, our main character, has always been dumped by those she likes. She has never even gotten past the confession stage, as no one ever accepts her feelings. Once again, dumped, she's feeling a little down, cue the odd happening!! After meeting a strange guy, she finds herself with a strange cd (or disc? I can't remember which) that will apparently bring her a boyfriend. Thinking that it's a joke, she goes to the site, and finds many "figures" listed there, seeing that there's a free trial, she orders one, not really expecting anything.

Imagine her surprise when huge package arrives the next day. Inside, is the man created just for her, and with a kiss, he awakens, proving he is more than she had expected.

Oh man, the end on this one. TT_TT Sooooooooo much love for this ending, then again I'm a sucker for bittersweet endings. It's true that Night (who's the figure Riiko ordered btw) and Riiko are no longer together, but there is so much happiness to be remembered. It is the near perfect ending for these two, with the least pain for both of them, buuuuut even thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. Riiko's frantic actions once she finds Night really touch the heart, but Night's letter is what really gets me. Arrrrrrg, I've never cried this much over a manga, save Fruits Basket. Am I becoming a wimp? XD

I must say for those looking for a short heart warming shojo I'd go with this. I'm sure those, who love Yuu Watase don't really need me to say that though :P Also, if you haven't read some of her other stuff, Ayashi no Ceres and Fushigi Yuugi are pretty damn good. She's pretty good with the heart warming scenes...so much so that I don't mind my favorite characters dying when she does it... (well...I can forgive her for it. Unlike every other time it happens to me)

What else have I read lately..? Hot Gimmick, I actually thought that ending was quite a bit like Hana Yori Dango...but it was awesomely cute. Othello, cause I love MPD-ness. It had a pretty good ending too. Vampire Knight (mmmm vampires) which I hope has a good ending, especially with recent revelations...it kinda feels like it's drawing to a close...but maybe that's just something only I'm feeling. Uuuuuummmmm...I've stopped worrying lately on the ending of Ouran...as it seems my most beloved pairing is gonna happen *squees*

...Hmmm...and I think that's it really...why all the shojo? I dunno, I guess I'm really a girly girl when you take away the boyish style and such. Besides I love shonen type ANIME better generally. Noooow...where am I going with this. I guess I'll end it here, as I'm probably boring anyone that's actually still reading this.
