another one down, another one bites the dust..

Dink & Heathyr set a date for their wedding, January 1st or January 10th 2010. This is really cool, it gives me plenty of time to get this weight off and get back in shape and to save up some moo-lah. Good thing, too, because Heathyr asked me to be her Matron of Honor. I was very touched.

It gave us something to celebrate on Saturday night - as Kim & Gillian were already over when Dink & Heathyr came over. We popped open a bottle of champagne and had birthday cake! (I've gotten very good at this birthday cake thing - as in, the cakes taste really good, but my decorating skills are sub-par.) Heathyr then showed me the ideas she sketched out for bridesmaids dresses, which are very 50's/retro. I love them, I love the era of glamour and being girlie. I'll do the whole nine yards, including the hair, stockings, shoes, etc.

I'm also thinking of coloring my hair again. I haven't actually colored my hair since 2003, but I'm really not digging my natural hair color at all. It's very "blah". I've had minimal highlights here and there, to try and give it some lift & brightness, but it's not me. I don't want to go blonde again, because it's too much maintenance, costs too much money, does tons of damage to your hair and is extremely painful. I'm thinking red again, or a dark brown with red undertones. Anything is better than this humdrum dark blonde-light brown crap that's going on.

We're prepping for our house-guests who will be arriving late Tuesday night. So, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning!! I'm also trying to prep for Saturday night, which is girlie night, part deux, St. Patrick's Day theme! Kim is thinking of making soda bread and Gillian is going to make something called squeak & bubble (or something like that), and I'm going to make Irish Potatos. All I know is that I better just exericse all freakin' week or I'm going to tip the scales, LOL! I tend to over-do it on girlie nights, but as long as I get back on the wagon the next day and keep exercising, I've been doing ok.

Although, yesterday, Kim ended up staying until after the Simpsons, so for dinner I made a huge platter of tacos. OMG, they were soooooooooooooooooooooo good, but I ate way too much, even yesterday. I am on the 1000 calorie/day wagon for the rest of this week. Period. Tara already texted me this morning to see if I want to walk tonight and I was like "YES!!!"

I'm taking the "ALLI" diet pill along with my diet & exercise and this week I lost 3.5lbs when my average has been ½lb - 1½lbs for the last 5 weeks or so. I like this stuff, I highly recommend it, it does really work! You do have to eat right & exercise while taking it, but that was almost double what I've been losing! (It probably doesn't help that I'm a 30-something now).

Other than that, I've really just been a little annoyed at a few of my friends. That's mostly due to lame excuses that have holes in them and lack of communication. But I'm in a good mood this morning, so I think I'll save that for another day. :grins:

(I'm confused as to why I'm in such a good mood, too, because I've technically had a lousy morning! I woke up late, forgot my lunch, got stuck behind a MASSIVE car accident and got to work with a flat tire. Go figure!)
