knitting
I've learned to knit backwards (as in, left to right) but can only do it English style. Whereas when knitting normally (right to left) knit/purl Continental, though looking at pictures I do that peculiarly too - at least I've never seen anyone else hold the yarn between their middle and index finger. Not sure if any particular one is better or worse for my hands, just amusing what happens you're learning from a description and not trying to hold your hands exactly like someone else's.
