Le weekend started out ok, almost like a normal weekend. I had a hangover on the Saturday but it was ok, a couple of rolls later and I was feeling chipper, or at least decent enough to go to the Post Office to pick up my new toy. OH YES my Creative Zen arrived and is a blue glowing, black cased hawt hawty!! Or at least it looked nice.
Then my upstairs neighbour appeared with our new lodger, mr Luke the cat......Luke, who's head I've briefly seen once or twice before he sprints away from me turns out to be a BEHEMOTH of a cat who is pretty much anti-social and spends most of his saturday stuck in tight spaces or corners.....weirdo. We also had a brief loan of his smaller sister Sophie before she went to her holiday home...Sophie was much more fun and didnt hide in their toilet. All that much. Some more cat fun was had, then I headed out to see the Gran and family units. Much tea and scones were had.
Home early as I had to drop Jackie off at her pals for a night out, back to Chez Dave for a night in of Creatively Zenning, beering and rocking out. Or not. My Zen hates me!!! It conflicts with my external hard drive!!!!!!!!! And more exclamation marks!!! (ok, stop!) Basically all my mp3s were on the HDD and I couldnt see them. Gutted!
Got tired and emotional but no further forward so slumped to bed defeated.
Sunday would bring me much joy!!! I will return triumphant!!!
Or not.
Up with the larks and over to PC world to buy a USB 2 card and some RAM to improve my ageing PC's chances of coping with the new-fangled technology. Also picked up an a new air-hose to fix the broken one on my car.
Did some general pottering and cleaning and then commenced the DIYness...
A five minute job of fitting a PCI card and some RAM turned into OMG WTF NO RLY disaster zone as my pc failed to boot. Or do anything. At all.PC world had labelled the memory incorrectly and something had decided to stop working. Curses!! Much poking and phoning around produced no results...my freebie-PC may finally be dead!!!
Meanwhile, the air-hose has split and unravelled in a tribute to the great Slinky I never had.
To say I was pissed off would've been an under-statement, only beer and Jack Bauer could soothe me and they did.
Then for some reason Monday turned into a great day of stuff working. My PC (for reasons still unknown to myself) suddenly decided to work...I reset the BIOS, kept the old RAM in there and bob was indeed my uncle. Even got my money back from PC World! In THEIR FACES!! My Zen loves it's new USB card and has stopped hating my external drive.
Even Luke's settled down a bit and come out of his shell a fair amount. He does really need to stop waking me up at about 5.30 in the morning though.
Harmoney descended over le Chatueau de Dave. For now.
