My spelling has taken a back seat over the last few years. I believe this is due to my inability to make time for keeping current with book reading and such.
I am going to make more time for that.
Among other things.
Such as, I've decided that I would feel fulfilled if I were to learn how to play my guitar. I'm going to go around to different places and see how much lessons cost. I'll try guitar center and the shop next to the comic book store I go to.
Two fridays ago I had the day off and was on my way to Buffalo Wild Wings to meet Valerie and Vanessa there. My phone rang and it was my boss from work. She had informed me that our sit-in district manager had wanted me to take a four day trip to St. George, Utah to assist in management coverage for their store.
My own hotel room, food, gas, all expenses paid. Only thing is that I wouldn't get a day off that week. I was honored and agreed.
So this past Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and most of Saturday I was about an hour and a half north of Las Vegas in the very small town of the St. George. It's a really nice place to live. Not alot to do. They had more movie theatres in that small town then we do in the Las Vegas Valley.
I had purchased a disposable camera to take random pictures of random things. However, I never made the time to do that. I wanted to take a picture of a buffet resteraunts sign entitled, "CHUCK-A-RAMA" because I knew for sure Chuck would have loved it. But I might go back up there soon to get some more personal work done.
On the first night there, I was driving around trying to locate the grocery stores and what not. I found a tattoo shop. Was too tired to go in and look around but I made it a point to go later in the week. My last night there, Friday I stopped by. Earlier I had gone to the local mall and was surprised to see a hot topic in there. The store front was littered with bright colored, almost preppy clothes, but the back half was trendy in the way hot topic has become famous for. I almost wasn't shocked to learn that they didn't sell CD's other than compilations up at the register. The Sam Goody there was almost worse then Fry's CD's selection.
Anyway, I asked the girl at hot topic who rang me up for two compilations CD's what's a good tattoo place around town, and she referred me to the same place I had discovered on my own. She said only get anything done by Jeffrey.
So on my last night in Utah, I went to F/X Underground tattoo shop. Looked at the guy's portfolio who happened to be Jeffrey. Great work. He's from L.A. and is out there to get away from city life for a few months. I felt really comfortable with him unlike most other tattoo artists. I was talking to him about drawing out custom stuff for me and he seemed really interested.
And to make a longer story a little bit longer, I ended up getting the X-Men logo above my left elbow. I love it. It's something I've wanted for a while and I'm really happy with it.
I had a good time and it was great to get away from everything. Sleep on a bed. Eat lot's of free food. (=
