I turned a corner

At the turn of a phrase

But the corners

Of my mouth turned

Only when I remembered:

“That was something

You might say”.

I can let go of you,

Let go of us,

But what I miss now

Is the me I was

When I let you in.

A goddess may return

Worship in favor.

And my self was

Returned in kind.

I never noticed:

When I bared my soul

You didn’t dress it

In your own.
