So Work was Interesting today...
So seriously it takes a lot of balls to break into a car in broad daylight. Apparently, some kid walking down the sidewalk felt he had enough.
It was about 9:45ish this morning my boss had been there about 20 minutes and my new coworker had been there all of 10 minutes. Well it was his car that got tampered with. My boss was standing in my office checking out the window when she noticed someone in Dave's car. She quickly realized that it wasn't Dave because the clothes and skin color didn't match. She screams to Dave that someone was breaking into his car. Dave runs out and yells "Hey! What the hell are you doing?"
Well the kid takes off running. He heads straight down Pennsylvania and heads towards the Lowes on the corner. I know that he went to Lowes because the boss and Dave hopped into her car and chased the kid. They had him cornered in the parking. If the cops would have gotten there 30 seconds sooner they would have caught him at Lowes. Then he crossed Trenton road and headed for the big bank over there. From the bank he headed into a wooded area near by.
The cops went in to the woods after him with the dogs. They chased him out of the woods and into an apartment complex. The cops finally caught him trying to get into a cab. A fucking cab!!! He plead guilty to all the charges that they had for him. The police officer that called Dave said that they were familiar with this guy.
Dave lucked out, because he was headed back out to his car to get something else he hadn't locked it. So no damage that way. He also scared the kid away so quickly he didn't manage to get anything. Which is good cause there was a checkbook and GPS unit in the front seats.
The best part was that the 911 dispatcher keep me on the line for awhile. He finally let me go when the other dispatcher told him that she had received a call. An update on the suspect, saying that he had taken off his white shirt and was now wearing a black tank top. I told the dispatcher I was talking with that was my boss on the other line. His response was I guess not that there is another contact I can let you go.
Exciting morning at work today. Let me tell you that the afternoon was not as much fun. 2.5 hours working on the wording of a power point presentation with 2 other people never that much fun. Hopefully, tomorrow I can do all the graphical and animation type stuff.
